Johann Sebastian Bach composed a drama per musica, staging a father threatening his daughter not to give her a husband unless she gives up coffee.
Die Katze lässt das Mausen nicht,
Die Jungfern bleiben Coffeeschwestern.
Die Mutter liebt den Coffeebrauch,
Die Großmama trank solchen auch.
Wer will nun auf die Töchter lästern!**
*Ah! How sweet the coffee's taste is,
Sweeter than a thousand kisses.
